The Reindeer: Arctic Facts

Antler Growth
Reindeer shed their antlers annually, a process that takes about 10 months. This is a remarkable adaptation to the Arctic environment.

Winter Survival
With a thick, multi-layered coat, reindeer can survive temperatures as low as -40°C. Their fur traps the air to provide exceptional insulation.

Sight in Snow
Reindeer have large, dark eyes adapted for seeing in the snow. They can detect movement in the snow up to 100 meters away.
